Beta Chi Loves our Parents!
Sending your teenager off to college can often be a hard transition for your child, but being involved in Kappa Delta helps this transition to be a smooth as possible. The warm hospitality, smiling faces, and generosity that the older girls give, helps to take away the uneasiness that your daughter may feel. Also, Barbara Bell, the House Mother, serves as a wonderful outlet to someone whom the girls can depend on and always have in the house as a “motherly” figure. Barbara’s insight and dependability help to make the Kappa Delta house feel more like a home.
Parent’s Weekend 2010 - October 1st-3rd
Parent's Weekend is one of Kappa Delta’s favorite events! Friday Night, October 1st the Underclassmen will be able to plan a dinner with their parents in the evening if they like. The Beta Chi seniors, however, are invited to have dinner at the Carolina Inn with their dates and their parents. Following the dinner, the underclassmen and their parties will arrive in one of the large dinning and dancehalls at the Carolina Inn. There we will have a band play, and you and your daughter are invited to dance the night away to the lovely tunes!
Saturday will be another very eventful and fun day! Depending on what time the Football game is, Kappa Delta will have a cookout either before or after the game. The cookout will have a spread of food, along with a band playing outside (weather permitting). Either following or preceding the cookout, parents are invited to purchase tickets to go to the football game with their daughter. This year we will be playing East Carolina on the 2nd. After Saturday’s festivities, parents can head for home—but are encouraged to stay. Sunday morning Kappa Delta will host one more event for the parents—a Sunday Brunch! This meal will conclude our Parent’s Weekend, but parents are always invited into the Kappa Delta house to visit or to enjoy a lunch or dinner with your daughter.
Here at Kappa Delta, we want to extend our thanks to the parents for all of their support! Thank you for sharing your daughter’s with us and helping us to grow and learn from her—helping us to be a greater Kappa Delta!
